Gosh I have let a week slip by without writing when I wanted to commit to this everyday. Kind of unrealistic goal for a Nursing Student. I can't even find time to check my Facebook everyday! This week... oh boy has is been busy. Nursing Care Plans, homework, homework, and more homework. I feel like Charlie Brown in the classroom with his teacher talking.... blah blah blah blah blah... okay right! I went and worked out 3 times at the gym, wish it was more, but I only have so many hours in a day and I need my sleep. It seems so crucial these days! I'm ready for tomorrow night, I am doing Bowl For Kid's Sake with my little sister, were bowling at 10:00pm tomorrow night with some friends so it should be lots of fun :) I just finished my online homework for the day. I have one more post tomorrow that I have to finish, but I get the weekend off from homework. The teacher is being nice. I usually have an assignment every Sunday that's due!
Some exciting news of my week, I got to insert a nasogastric tube this week on a real patient instead of a dummy doll! Talk about a hint of nerve racking. I had trouble inserting it into the nasal canal, but my instructor got me on the right track. I really hope I get the opportunity to do a Foley this semester! It seems like if we don't get the opportunity this semester than next semester they let us free and if a Foley arrives, we have to do it with no instruction. I could have passed the opportunity, but it seems that if you miss you chance the likely hood of getting a second one is slim to none. I mean we only have 5 weeks this semester to do our Foley's and NG's and 2 out the 16 students so far have gotten to do either, me one of the lucky ones. I really love the clinical experience, its so hands on and I get to apply everything I have learned so far! Ok well I'm going to wrap this up, lots to talk about and not enough time!!!
